#gotitfromAmazon: May review!

Hello THURSDAY!
I FINALLY got all of my items in from my last #gotitfromAmazon post so today I thought i'd let you know how they panned out.

Amazon is SO CONVENIENT but with the convenience comes faith and a smidge of axiety that your purchases turn out the way you hope for them to.

Alright, let's get started!

1. Flutter Sleeve Bodysuit.  This turned out EXACTLY as I had hoped!  My only problem with it (which isn't necessarily the fault of the piece but more of the style...) is HELLLOOO PANTY LINE?! Ugh! I didn't even think about the fact that this could possibly be an issue - but it's SO CUTE that I'm determined to find a solution... any suggestions? Result: KEEPIN' IT!

2. Aviator Sunnies. Ugh! These turned out to be SO CUTE... However, I am more of an 'oversized' sunglasses wearer and unfortunately, these just weren't big enough for me.  Funny thing is, my husband liked them and now he's deemed them his, ha! Result: WOULD RETURN IF MY HUSBAND DIDN'T WANT THEM! (....ha!)

3. Kate Spade iPhone 11 case.  I knew this should be a winner because i've owned Kate Spade phone cases before and they were super nice and held up great.  So far I'm LOVING this one and I love the style.  Result: KEEPIN' IT!

4. Have a Willie Nice Day Tank. Okay. I know. I know what you're thinking... and when my husband saw me pull this shirt out of the bag I could tell what he was thinking, too... but ya'll.. this tank is COMFORTABLE and has the most flattering fit! I'm keeping it and I really don't care what kind of vibe it gives off (hopefully a 'willie' good one ;)) Result: KEEPIN' IT BUT APPARENTLY NOT WEARING IT TO WORK (...ha!)

5. Dalmatian High Waist Ruffle Skirt.  I. love. this. skirt. It's so fun and can be worn casually or even at the office (I've already worn it in this week!) - love, love, love LOVE - buy it! Result: KEEPIN' IT!

Yay! I'd say this Amazon haul was definitely successful!

I'll be back next week with my latest orders :)
See ya tomorrow!

NEW SERIES: How we... Wednesday

Hello and Happy Wednesday!

A little fun fact about both me and my husband: We both have very, very VERY 'Type A' personalities.  Structured environments, order...

...we are basically kind of uptight ;) ha! So don't mind us while we're over here busy raising 4 control freaks orderly and routine boys just like us ;)

Now, whether you're 'Type A, B, or C'... I get that not every household is like mine but let me be the one to tell you, when you are a blended family and have 4 BOYS under ten years old, routine and any smidgen of structure is your best. best. BEST FRIEND.  When we're all on a routine and know exactly what is expected out of everyone and when, we are #livingourbestlife

So, the more I thought about it, the more I was all 'man, we really do have alot of routines around here, maybe I should talk about them?' I mean, there is a possibility I might not be the only one out on this island, right? So here I am, deciding to share a routine on the second you guessed it! Wednesday of every month :)
Some topics might be actual 'routines', some might be just little traditions or ways we run our home... either way, it's how WE do things and manage our chaos around here :)

Here's the line up:
I'd love to hear your tips and suggestions in the comments section to satisfy my strange obsession as we chat about some of these!

I can't wait to chat about how we make a point to stay ACTIVE next Wednesday!

chicken bacon ranch quesadillas

Another Tuesday, another yummy recipe to celebrate 'Taco Tuesday'!

We make LOTS of different quesadillas around here but these are HANDS DOWN my absolute favorite!  You will almost always see me whipping these up during college football season just about every Saturday afternoon.

As i've mentioned before, I BAKE my quesadillas so this makes this recipe super simple and quick!  Just pick up a rotisserie chicken on your way home and bam, dinner in minutes!

SHOPPING LIST:
1 Rotisserie Chicken
1 pack of real bacon bits
Ranch dressing (I recommend using my homemade ranch!)
1 pack of hot pepper blend shredded cheese
1 pack of colby jack shredded cheese
1 onion, diced
Butter (I use a real butter spread)
Tortillas

DIRECTIONS:
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
Shred your rotisserie chicken into bite sized pieces.
In a skillet, heat a drizzle of EVOO over medium heat and add your diced onion, sauteing them until caramelized.  Set aside.  Begin assembling your tortillas onto sheet pans by buttering a tortilla and laying it buttered side down onto the pan.  Add about a tablespoon of ranch, two tablespoons of your cooked onions, chicken, bacon and a blend of your two cheeses.  Top with another tortilla, buttered side up.

Bake your quesadillas for 6-7 minutes and then flip for another 6 minutes.

Serve with even more ranch, my guac, or sour cream.

Yum, yum, yum... I promise, these will be a favorite!

May 2020 Recap!

It's JUNE 1ST! Which means, in my book, we are in full SUMMER MODE over here!

I wanted to drop in really quick and recap the past month.
May was... craazzy over here!

Let's start with FOOD! (because, #duh)

Now, this one deserves it's own spotlight...

I mentioned that I'm not a ranch-finatic and you ranch finatics showed up BIG TIME for this post!  This was my most viewed post of the month and most requested recipe.  Makes sense though cause this stuff is GOOD!

As for what my tribe has been up to...

We had a BUSY month!

...Lake turned 20 months and something about the number 20 makes me want to curl up in a corner and cry.

My baby boy turned NINE.

...and my sweet Corb turned SEVEN.

We threw a 'best that you can cause of #rona' birthday celebration for them and had the BEST TIME! I call it a win when they have all three asked to do 'this birthday' every year... Yay!

Two of my boys got back in the kitchen and whipped up something delicious!

We also celebrated ME! ...and well, all the other Mother's on Mother's Day :)

...and then we did a whole lot of just, well, life!

Memorial Day this year was spent poolside with friends and we had the best time kicking off summer!

As for me...
Lots of random favorites for the month of May!

Psst.. I'll be reviewing my Amazon buys on THURSDAY!

Phew! Are you tired? I'm tired!
Here's hoping June is just as great as May and maybbeee even a little more normal :)

See you tomorrow!
